Palazzo di Primavera pays tribute to the figure of the Russian painter Mikhail Koulakov, considered one of the founders of the new abstraction in Russia, hosting in its rooms from 24 September, the monograph “16 October Cosmo in the gesture”, entirely dedicated to the figure of this representative prominent Soviet avant postwar.
The exhibition, accompanied by the screening of a documentary made dall’asssociazione “L’Albatros” and consists of 50 large-scale works mostly unpublished, and all made from the sixties to the artist’s death (2015), is a sort of Umbria tribute, which for Koulakov represented a sort of second home where he spent half of his creative life since 1976.
