OrvietoScience is an annual event, a time when talking about science and promoting science in school. Two days dedicated to the relationship between science, school and society, within the framework of the friendly medieval town in central Italy.
Education, so school as construction of basic scientific knowledge, which for some will remain as fundamental for life.
Knowledge that guarantee the conscious participation in active citizenship: a scientific citizenship, that makes actors and not subjects and that, by decoding the complexities of science, allows to understand what is happening, and why.
For a citizen who knows his rights: to live in a healthy environment and to have a sustainable future, be protagonist of her life story, from start to finish, to possess the tools to express themselves in full knowledge about issues arising from life sciences , and others, and develop independently their own value judgments on these issues.
All this is a guarantee of democracy.
